The Little Ones

This bright, friendly, and all around adorable girl knows her vegetables.

It is heart warming to see parents teach their little ones about the earth and food.

Name that vegetable

Just think long term for a moment.  The young children that visit the garden during their YMCA Spring break will go home knowing that a carrot comes from the ground because the pulled one up, washed it, and chewed on it.

Lives are made richer because we created a place where learning takes place.  Dirty, sweaty, fun learning.

Peyton's Gourd

Peyton has been away for the summer while her little brother undergoes important medical treatment.

This week we noticed what looks like a gourd growing in her plot.  But maybe it is something else.  We haven't decided.

The little ones

Little G visits the garden with his mom.

Soon he will be in the sand box like his brothers.

Involving children

Children are very much involved with FIGG. The garden is scorching quiet in the summer as official children's activities go, but as you can see below, there are always a few around.  Julia and Kensie helped harvest tomatoes that were later taken to the Food Bank.
